Boost for Books - Bubble 3 tiktok extravaganza

Good Afternoon, This afternoon, bubble 3 found a new way to get our miles up. We attempted a tik tok dance to The Greatest Showman. Our dancing equated to a collective 4 miles, which puts us even further along the wall. Here it is in all its glory - thank you Ferris for being our camera man.

We now have 171 books and are 99 away from our target. If you can spare a few pounds to donate a book for one of our children, it would be massively appreciated. The link to our wishlist is here

Thank you so much.

Robin's Hall Of Fame!

Welcome to Robins Hall Of Fame!

Welcome to the LAST Hall Of Fame for this half term!

Upon reflection, it was so hard to choose just a select few children to go in the Hall Of Fame this week! So instead, I decided to dedicate the Hall Of Fame to every member of the Robins team! (Parents, children AND staff)

After such a difficult half term, Robins team have shown what they are made of! With AMAZING work, smiles over zoom and lots of time at home - they haven't once let it get them down!

I am so proud of every single one of my FANTASTIC team and hope that they feel just as proud as me!

Once again Team Robins! You are all SUPER stars and I am so lucky to call myself your teacher!

Here are some highlights from the past six weeks...

Robert Falcon Scott - Topic work :)

The Owls have been looking at Robert Falcon Scott during Topic work.

They had to research him and see why he was similar to Sir Earnest Shackleton.

Great Wall of China...Update!

 Good Afternoon,

We are now a week into our Great Wall of China challenge and at the end of week 1, the staff have collectively walked a whopping

565.48 miles

In addition to this, we have raised 171 books, meaning we need only 99 more to be able to gift one to every single child in our school.

Thank you so much for all of the books and for all of the support.

The link to our amazon wishlist is here, if anybody would still like to donate.

Screen Savers: Looking after your eyes, body and mind when using screens (Beacon House)

We are spending more time online than ever before, possibly sitting and working with poor posture as we use makeshift desks and chairs. There is a tendency to take fewer breaks and less exercise and this is affecting our physical well-being.

Beacon House the specialist, therapeutic service for young people, families and adults has produced a series of six posters outlining ways to keep safe and alert when working at home, whether children or adults.

These can be accessed by clicking on the following link:

Supporting Parents and Children (Young Minds)

Times are tough for many people right now and parents can find themselves pulled in many different directions.  Children may also be struggling being in the house for so much longer than usual.

A mixture of concern about covid, work from home and children at home, along with a possible financial impact make for a stressful household.

Young Minds have created a useful 'Supporting Parents Helpfinder'. By answering six questions, parents can find out how to support their child's mental health during the pandemic (and beyond).

For further information, click the link below:

Young Minds have also created a useful poster highlighting ways to give support to children when they have angry feelings or outbursts and may help families start a conversation and talk about each other’s feelings.  This can be accessed by clicking the link below:
