SUPER Swifts SOAR this week!

It's been absolutely AMAZING seeing my Swifts this week and having them back in the class. They have tried their absolute hardest in settling back in and doing what they do best... learning to be the best that they can be! Here are some of the wonderful things that they have been up to this week...

Well done Swifts! ⭐

Rocking Robins overcome the obstacles of the week...

Rocking Robins show what they're made of...

Rocking Robins showed what they were made of today for our PE session! A course full of many obstacles wasn't going to stop them ending their first week back on a high!

Kestrels Bootcamp Experience

Today, Kestrels took part in a 'Bootcamp' experience to help them get into role as Alex Rider, the main character in our class text 'Stormbreaker'.  Alex Rider is a teenage boy sent to an SAS Bootcamp to train to join MI6 and become a spy.  Kestrels will now be writing diary entries in role as Alex and we're sure their own experiences today are going to really help them describe Alex's experiences:  exhausting, tough, intimidating, gruelling...and we were pretty 'nice' Sergeants!!

Some amazing Maths in Jays

 Good Morning,

In Maths, Jays are learning to use column method to solve addition and subtraction calculations. We used place value grids and counters to help us learn how we need to set out our columns. We were also able to set them out formally using numbers in our books! The adults in our class were so impressed with how quickly we grasped this concept.

Take a look at what we have been up to!

Worry Monsters #WorryMonsterSolutions

In year 5 Owls class, we have been discussing our worries and making monsters for these.

As a class we decided that the monsters actually remind us that there are always solutions to worries.

These monsters are now hiding all around the Owls classroom......

Maths problem solving for Kestrels

Today we eased ourselves back into maths with a little practical problem solving.  It really got our brains thinking and reminded us of some of our number facts: multiples, factors and square numbers.  The children showed great resilience as well as logic and collaboration.  A super way to recap some of our school learning behaviours.  Well done Kestrels!
