This morning, Owls have been learning to use four figure grid references on Ordnance Survey maps! First, we had a go identifying some symbols - some of them were very tricky to guess! Then, we were given some symbols and we had to go on a scavenger hunt, searching for the symbols and recording the grid references.
Here are some pictures of us at work!
If you want to find out more, there are some lovely mapping resources on the OS website: https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/mapzone/
Enjoy!
Such an important skill to have, and one that is slowly diminishing. Reading a map allows you to also read a landscape, meaning that it can open up exciting new adventures and opportunities for exploration.
