Super Swifts LOVE birds!

Today was an AWESOME day for the Swift class! We were visited by the AMEWS Falconry.  They bought some amazing birds for us to view and hear facts about.  First we were shown a big Buzzard, a fabulous Falcon, a cute Kestrel and a beautiful Owl.  It honestly was incredible, I've never seen my class so quiet! The visitors were so impressed with the questions asked and the knowledge that some of them shared.   I was beaming with pride :) The best bit was when we went outside and were given a live bird demonstration.  My was it exciting! Hopefully the children have shared with you the fun that they had. We will be using everything that we learnt today to create a fact file based on one of the birds shown next week! Swifts and Swallows are 'BIRD-TASTIC!'

What an exciting start to the week Year 2 have had today! The AMEW's Falconry were invited in to teach us all about the different birds of prey found in our area and linked to our topic this half term, 'Into the Forest.'  Mandy and Paul really loved the children's questions and awarded them gold stars for their enthusiasm.  Well done super Swifts and Swallows, we are very proud!  Here are some highlights from today's visit...be prepared though as the video is very scream-ish...
