Re:Minds is a parent-led support group for families who have children/young people with autism or mental health issues and is based in Southampton. It was founded with mutual support in mind, their aim is to allow people whose children face similar issues to meet up in an informal setting to share knowledge and talk about any challenges their families are facing. They don’t claim to be experts, just other families who understand what it can feel like to be on the autism/mental health journey.

Group for parents of pupils with Autism
I have been asked to pass on information to parents about Jenny Palmer's free Autism Christmas Planning Group for parents of pupils with Autism. We know this can be a particularly challenging time for them; therefore, together as a group, the parents will work on how to support their children over the Christmas period to make it the very special time it should be. The sessions will cover:
- Helping your child understanding what is going to happen over the coming weeks as we build to Christmas.
- How to communicate to school what your child needs adapted to help them cope and enjoy themselves.
- Tools to deal with anxiety.
- Sensory processing issues and strategies
- What to do on the day and how to adapt
The training will be via email and in a short term pop up Facebook group which starts on 26th November. The challenge runs for 2 weeks during which time, the group will work together each day to plan Christmas to ensure the children are well supported.
