Bitterne Manor Book Day - Rooks

Rooks embraced Bitterne Manor Book day.  Thank you to everyone who was able to come for Book Look and the workshops after school.

Today Rooks adopted the book - The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka.  This tells the well known story of the three little pigs from the persepective of Alexander T. Wolf, who feels he has been severely slandered by the news papers!

Over the past couple of days, Rooks class have adopted an IMAGINE and CREATE challenge from the World Book Day "Big Book Off".  They have spent time looking at the arguments 'for and against' Mr Wolf's guilt about the death of the first and second little pigs.  They created court scenes and acted out the trial.

Having spent time understanding the story the children then entered the CREATE challenge and designed settings and characters mentioned or present within the story.  This was done using potatoes!!!!

Potato characters soon appeared in the classroom. A wolf, 3 pigs, a newspaper journalist, policeman and granny (whose birthday cake started it all!)  A fantastic job by Rooks!
