Outstanding owls’ art

Owls were able to practice their watercolour techniques today when artist Joanna popped in this afternoon. They learnt 4 different techniques that they will be able to use when Joanna next comes in to help them paint watercolour animals. Well done Owls! https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1E8j7Wd3obF300Xa-ewmG_mcRww-I8KHNhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1KvU7TX-tQ1HH_NNBR4MkaB801nypmCxRhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1AMfXwaEsWu21ZNEcr-9tR8Z0hPPTEk3chttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1ahxFYhbDuc4U-PyXF84Cc8VPms5296kMhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=19UIaqCFBgL3MJA62Vx6J6sehvREf3DrD

Rocking Robin, tweet, tweet...

Local artist Joanna Rose Tidey has been helping with a project that our School has been involved in, 'Nature all around us.' She has created six beautiful murals about local wildlife which are displayed around our local area. Have you seen them? 👀

Joanna will be visiting all the classes at BMPS to teach children various art techniques including drawing and the use of water colours. She will guide children to produce a final drawing of their chosen wildlife preferred animal later next year which will become part of small exhibition hosted at our school!

Yesterday, she spent her first day with the Robins class. She taught them how to draw a Robin and a Fox in their very own sketchbook. They loved it! Each child has been given a sketchbook and a pencil to take home and are encouraged to draw nature or animals around them. They'll be asked to bring these back in at some point and share what they have drawn ✎ I can't wait to see them!

Here's a sneak peek of what the Robins class did...

How fabulous right?

Stay tuned for more awesome artwork😊

Year 4 visit the Art Gallery

Our Art topic this term is portraits, so Year 4 decided to go and view a selection of original paintings and sculptures at the Art Gallery in Southampton. In addition to studying and making observational drawings of artwork in both traditional and modern styles, the class enjoyed a workshop session. They learnt how to draw a face with features correctly proportioned. Then using just one length of wire, they bent the wire following the outline of their drawings to create a 3D wire sculpture. Facial features were added with pipe cleaners, beads and ribbon. The finished sculptures look amazing!
