Being Great Sports!

A great day had by all at the recent City Wide Athletics Championships. Special mention to Amber who made it through to the final of the girls 60m and to Maurice for winning the upper school long jump competition.
Bitterne Manor was also represented at the Southampton Schools swimming gala. We took part in some very competitive races across a variety of strokes. All children took part in the spirit of the event and did themselves proud.

Bienvenido a Bitterne Manor!

We will be very pleased to give a big welcome in our school to a group of children from Spain next week. The children will be staying with families from Bitterne Manor and St Denys and are attending school for part of their visit to the UK. They will be learning about our country and experiencing English and England first hand. We hope they really enjoy their visit. The group of students are all from Teruel (pictured below) which is high in the mountains in Aragon in the East of Spain. They are at the primary school or Colegio Publico called 'Las Anejas' (pictured above).

Saints Raffle Winners

Well done to the winners of our 'Saints Raffle' announced yesterday. Lucky winners receive some fabulous Saints memorabilia. Thanks for all the support in raising over £200 for the school!

Summer Fayre 2016

Currently in school, teachers are very busy with assessment moderation, writing pupil reports, work scrutiny, lesson observations and preparations for transition. Ofsted may well call at any minute! Surprisingly, however, foremost in their minds is who is going to get gunged at this year's Summer Fayre! Here are the candidates that have 'volunteered' and they are arranged in no particular order. Honest.

Queen's Birthday Picnic

Today was a very special buffet held to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday. The children all enjoyed a picnic in the school grounds and a special birthday cupcake from City Catering in honour of her majesty who, as you can see in the pictures, was able to attend the event and help out... We do wish the real Queen a very happy birthday!

Music at Bitterne Manor

We have loved seeing Alex in assembly today.  Alex brought in a range of instruments to play for the children. They even got to march to the beat of a snare drum! The children are all very excited about being taught music by Alex next year.  He will be offering a range of instrument tuition, drumming clubs and year 3 yukele and drum classes.

We look forward to seeing him next year!
