SWIFTS SOAR through their first half term!

What a SUPER half term it's been for the Swift class! The Year 2 team are so proud of each and every member of the Swift class for all of their amazing efforts.  They have worked incredibly hard and it's been a joy to watch each and every one of them grow.  A HUGE thank you to the parents! You have been wonderful and your support has been greatly appreciated!

It's safe to say that they thoroughly enjoyed their popcorn party this afternoon!

Have a SUPER half term :)

Kingfisher's Magical Day

Kingfishers enjoyed dressing up as magical beings to end their Abracadabra topic. We had a letter from Winnie the Witch who set us a colour mixing challenge using our magic paintbrushes. We enjoyed watching the colours change colour as we mixed them. We also conducted some magical experiments. We saw walking water, a magical lava lamp and disappearing skittles.

Your City, Your Say....

The message below has been sent to residents who have signed up to Southampton City's Portal but for those that haven't you might be interested in responding to this survey. Link below!

We would like to know what you think about a draft budget for 2020/21 and onwards to 2022/23.

This year we are taking a slightly different approach to the budget. We are continuing to find and deliver efficiencies but we want to grow our way out of the budget gap. By this we mean making bold investments in the areas which are important to the city, and by investing money in things which can generate income to the council and therefore support services. We feel this is the best way to create a city of opportunity where everyone thrives.

This is your opportunity to have your say. For example, we want to hear how it may affect you and if you have any suggestions for us. We will consider all the feedback received before any final decisions are made.

To read about the proposals and give us your views, please complete the following questionnaire.

Please complete this questionnaire by 7 January 2020.

Kingfishers hedgehog visit

Kingfishers were very excited to have a special visitor this afternoon from Hamble Hedgehogs. They brought in Arthur the Hedgehog. The children listened intently to the information given to them and are now Hedgehog experts! They were able to gently stroke the hedgehog on the back, which the children loved doing. They were extra caring towards Arthur, who went back to his home for a well deserved rest. We look forward to learning more about Hedgehogs in Autumn 2.

Holiday Event at Testlands Hub

Our partners at Testlands Community Hub have organised the event below which we are happy to advertise on their behalf. The leaflet below is available in school and proceeds will go towards their own charitable causes and supporting the community. Please contact Testlands for further details as this is not a school event. Thanks!

Year 4 get team building!

Year 4 have been spending the past few weeks working on their team building! With such a packed curriculum we take every opportunity to come together as a year group to mix up and have fun. We have been using our team skills to work together and complete the challenges!

This week we had to use our communication and team work to get all of our team members across the hall using only two hoops! It definitely had it's challenges - however, we came together and worked hard to complete it.

ROOKS get voting!

Yesterday morning ROOKS got voting in the annual Learning Leader elections! The children really got into the voting mindset and after some amazing speeches decided who they would like to elect as their Learning Leaders!

Well done to all children who put themselves forwards, some fantastic ideas and even more amazing speeches made for a very difficult decision!
