We are LEGENDS! House Captain Vote Results.

Friday was a very important day for some of our Year 6 children, it was the House Captains elections. Children from each year group came together, in their houses, to elect this years new House Captains.  The Legends nominees were, Ben, Joe, Victoria and Emily.  Each nominee stood up in front of the house and made a spectacular speech to persuade the audience to select them for the role of their Captain.  It was an incredibly close vote (which had to be recounted and verified), but the Legends House Captains elected for 2016-2017 are... Ben and Joe! Legends have voted, well done boys!  Everyone is looking to you to lead them to victory this year!

Let's go Heroes, let's go!!

Friday was a big day for our house teams as we were nominating our new House Captains. Heroes had five fantastic ladies in the running. These were Hannah, Natasha, Lola, Chloe and Scarlett. They were all so brave coming to the front of the class and reading their speeches to such a big audience. It was a tough choice but Heroes new House Captians are... Lola and Hannah. Well done girls!

We are the CHAMPIONS!

Today was a very important day for some of our Year 6 children, it was the House Captains elections. Each house was asked to come together and vote for their new leaders.  The Champions nominees were, Daniel, Lucy and Ehrin.  They all made spectacular speeches that they read with passion trying to persuade the audience to pick them.  It was a close vote but the Champions House Captains for 2016-2017 are... Daniel and Ehrin! Your mob has spoken, lead them to victory but most of all unite as a team!

Welcome to Kestrels!

Kestrels have had a fantastic first week settling into life in Year 6.  We have created our own class charter and thought carefully about our goals for this year:

We have been really busy getting stuck into our first topic on Natural Disasters and have already learnt lots about flooding and volcanoes.  We have carried out research, used maps (digital and paper ones!) and even made our own mini 'word volcanoes'

Today we also had a visit from the Fire and Rescue team.  We learnt all about keeping our homes safe, spotting dangers around the home and what to do if there is a fire.  We know how to use and test smoke alarms and the safest places for them.  We may well come home and speak to our grown ups about fire escape plans (as well as spotting devices that don't need to be kept plugged in!).  In addition to this Mike and Dave the Firefighters spoke to us about keeping ourselves safe on the road and reminded us how important our helmets are when we are on our bikes!

What a busy first week!  Well done Kestrels!

Welcome to Robins

Robins have had a great start to the year, it was a fantastic first day! Miss Cole enjoyed hearing about our summer holidays and was so shocked by all the  amazing homework projects. Our room looks a little bit different to how we remember it but now we have a new reading corner.  During the day we had a discussion about what makes a great classmate, we then used these ideas to make a set of classroom rules and signed it with our handprints.  We took some funny photos for our new display 'our future's are so birght we have to wear shades.'

Super Swift's first day!

Wow! What a super day it's been in the Swift class today!  We explored our cool classroom and got to know what life would be like in Year 2...it is FANTASTIC! Miss Sangha took Swift selfies  for our Instagram board, they look AWESOME! As it was our SEAL day we took part in lots of fun activities.  We created our class rules, made a learning wish/dream for this half term and wrote it down to go into a 'dream jar' (it was very exciting!) Then Miss Sangha asked us what kind of teacher we wanted so we wrote our ideas down and we created a compliment for someone in our class because we are all so sweet! Here are some highlights from today...

Owls awesome start to Year 5!

Owls class have had a wonderful start to the new school year as we created our very own class charter to help us  be ready to learn to be the best we can! We also designed cartoon strips to show how it feels to be  in a new situation and finally we worked in groups to make bananagrams of our names. The cherry on the cake was winning kind kevin at lunchtime.  Well done owls - you have one very proud teacher.
